Hi Jean, this is so fun!! I've called myself "Myself" as in 'Me, Myself and I'. I guess if I have another clone made she will be called "I".
I really enjoyed our class. I've been sewing almost all my life, the past 20 years for clients. I can see the uniqueness of each of my client's figures, but until actually seeing "Myself" couldn't figure out what mine were. Now that I know, I can adjust my patterns accordingly and my own wardrobe will take on a whole new look - they'll fit!!
I love the turntable base of my dressform, it will make it so easy to drape and alter my clothing.
Thanks again Jean for the class. If anyone is still just "thinking" about doing the class, don't hestitate any longer. You will love yourself, too!
Cheers,
Lynne
Thanks for creating this great site, Jean!
My fitting assistant's name is Mimi.
So far, I've draped a straight skirt on her--my first draping project with no pattern.
Assembly of the actual skirt will have to wait until I get past my current work crunch (one more week). I've started playing around with comparing Mimi to commercial dress patterns. She's a problem child, because her bodice is one size and her skirt portion is quite another. (It's great to be able to discuss "her" figure flaws rather than my own.) I'm envisioning lots of well-fitted clothes for both of us. I'll keep you posted on our progress.
Hi Jean! It's been a long time since we made my "Cloney" as I call her. Probably 2-3 years??? Anyway....as much as I love her, I can't use her anymore. I've lost almost 25lbs. recently (yay!) so she no longer looks a whole lot like me. Time for Cloney II, I guess!
